Preserving Heritage
We respectfully acknowledge that Nita Lake Lodge rests on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh and Líl̓wat Nations, known as Whistler today. Understanding and honoring Whistler's rich cultural heritage and the land's significance to the local Squamish and Líl̓wat First Nations is integral to Nita Lake Lodge. We actively educate our guests and staff, encouraging visits to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre and promoting our visitor code of conduct. We wish to not only preserve cultural heritage sites for future generations but also ensure they remain a vital part of our shared history and culture.

Water Conservation
Conserving water is one of our foremost priorities at Nita Lake Lodge. We actively encourage everyone in the lodge to be mindful of their water usage. As part of our commitment to this effort, we have installed low-flow faucets and shower heads throughout the property. These measures significantly reduce water consumption without sacrificing comfort, allowing us to contribute to the conservation of this precious resource.

Eco-Friendly Amenities
As part of our ongoing commitment to reduce our ecological footprint, we provide eco-friendly amenities such as bamboo toothbrushes. These small changes can have a significant impact, and we take pride in offering sustainable options to our guests during their stay. Additionally, we have installed EV charging stations on-site and utilize geothermal energy for heating and cooling the property. Nita Lake Lodge is equipped with energy-efficient lighting to further minimize energy consumption. We also have a comprehensive recycling program in place, covering paper, plastic, and compostable materials.
We are proud to collaborate with BamBrush.
Encouraging Responsible Exploration
As Whistler’s only lakeside resort & spa, preserving our pristine surroundings is paramount. We hold our lakeside property and the surrounding natural beauty in the highest regard, committed to wildlife protection and ecosystem preservation. Every effort is made to harmonize with the local wildlife and minimize our impact on the delicate ecosystem. Through our visitor code of conduct, we advocate for responsible exploration of the Whistler area. Guests are encouraged to respect the natural environment and wildlife, ensuring that our collective enjoyment of this stunning region leaves behind no traces.

Supporting the Community
At Nita Lake Lodge, community support is at the heart of what we do. Through donations and fundraising challenges, we've proudly supported organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Whistler Community Services Society, and PearlSpace Women's Shelter. These initiatives allow us to give back and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in our community.
As part of AWARE’s Earth Week, we are supporting AWARE Whistler, by hosting their Re-Love-It Clothing Swap on April 18, 2024. Help us reject fast fashion and swap clothes, shoes and accessories you no longer need or wear. We’ll weigh your items and see how much is diverted from landfill! As part of AWARE’s Earth Week, there’s a multitude of events at mobilizing our community into action.

Sustainable Tourism
At Nita Lake Lodge, we firmly believe in the transformative power of responsible travel. We understand the profound impact tourism can have on the environment and local communities, and we are dedicated to being part of the solution. Our on-site restaurant, The Den, exemplifies sustainability with its farm-to-table approach, sourcing ingredients locally to create dishes that reflect the seasons. This commitment to sustainability not only protects the environment but also provides our guests with an authentic and conscientious dining experience.

Looking Towards the Future
We're thrilled to share that Nita Lake Lodge has achieved Bronze Certification from GreenStep Solutions, but our sustainability journey is ongoing. By the end of 2024, we have set ambitious goals to further reduce our environmental impact. We're dedicated to phasing out single-use plastics with eco-friendly alternatives like locally made 3D printed bins, implementing waste tracking systems to monitor and reduce our waste output, and actively seeking green partners to enhance our recycling efforts.
